Growing Connections accepts students of all ages, including adults.
Literacy Instruction may include:

Instruction may also include:
- Emotional Regulation
- Discussions of Learning Disabilities, ADHD, or other neuro-diversity and how this impacts learning, behaviour, and confidence with both students and their parents
- Insight, strategies, and advocacy for living with neuro-diversity in a neuro-typical environment for both students and parents
- Ways to apply the methods, strategies, and skills learned in this instruction to other areas of life
Online Instruction
Many parents are concerned, after seeing how their child managed with online school instruction during Covid lock-downs, that online instruction will not be a good choice for them. However, in contrast to school online instruction, which tended to require the students to just sit and listen, Growing Connections uses an approach that is interactive and “hands-on”. This approach engages the student in the learning and has very different results.
Online lessons are 60-90 minutes long and can take place up to five days a week. 90 minute lessons will include a ten minute break. Instruction is tailored to the student’s needs and progresses at a speed suited to the student’s requirements.
Rate: $60/hour
In-Person Instruction (Client's Home)
In-Person Instruction takes place in your home and is limited to certain areas of the West end of Calgary. Due to the time spent in driving as well as the price of gas, the rate is a little bit higher.
In-Person lessons are 1-3 hours long and can take place up to five days a week. Lessons that are longer than an hour will incorporate appropriate breaks. Instruction is tailored to the student’s needs and progresses at a speed suited to the student’s requirements.
Rate: $65/hour
In-Person Instruction at My Location
Lessons at my location (in Westgate, near the intersection of Sarcee Trail and 17th Avenue W.) are 1-3 hours long and can take place up to five days a week. Lessons that are longer than an hour will incorporate appropriate breaks. Instruction is tailored to the student’s needs and progresses at a speed suited to the student’s requirements.
Rate: $60/hour
